Social Events
There is a varied programme of social events to suit all ages. Some of our events are in aid of Christian charities such as Tearfund, Routes to Roots, Chernobyl Children’s Life Line, Compassion UK, Alpha India to name a few. A warm welcome is extended to all to come and join in our events, socialize and have fun.
Events planned for 2012 include
- A barbecue at Sandbanks beach on 2 January 2012 organised by Neil and Ruth Murdoch
- Barn dance and supper held in the church hall - a joint event with St Paul’s Anglican congregation on Saturday 21 January 2012
- Board games night in February
- Quiz night in March
- Easter Monday walk in April
- Men’s walking weekend on Dartmoor in May led by Neil Murdoch
- A visit to a local place of interest, for example previously we have visited Athelhampton House, White Mill at Sturminster Marshall and Chettle House after the morning service and enjoyed glorious weather whilst exploring the house and gardens. Afterwards we had refreshments in the tea shop.
- Picnic at Upton House in June
- Talent Night and American Supper in July. We are always entertained by a variety of acts from singers, musicians, dancers, tribute acts and wonderful yarns about Dorset by the young at heart Tom Scott.
- Visit and tour of the RNLI College and lunch in September
- Music Night with our talented musicians playing a selection of popular and classical music in October- have a look at last years event on our Downloads page
- Alternative Christmas social in November we go out for meal and beat the rush
- Christmas party at the church in December
