On Saturday 26 November 2011 we held our Alternative Christmas Social at the RNLI Lifeboat College in West Quay Road, Poole with 53 people in attendance. We all met in the bar for a drink before moving to our own private room where our meal was served. We enjoyed a carvery style meal of roast beef, roast turkey or a vegetarian option with a selection of seasonal vegetables and all the trimmings followed by a pudding of cheesecake. There was a good chance to socialise and move around the tables and we could help ourselves to as much tea and coffee as we wanted. We also celebrated with our Youth Mininster Rev. Ez Lucas by singing Happy Birthday when a cake with candles was delivered by the staff. We were very well looked after by the team at the RNLI who could not have done more to make the evening such a pleasant experience.
