The Birth of a King is a brand new musical, premièring worldwide in 2011. On Sunday 4 December 2011 the Concert Hall at the Lighthouse was filled to capacity. On stage there was a full orchestra comprised of musicians from various churches in the area. The singers were a mixture of professional soloists and a choir made up of singers again from local churches.
In the orchestra CHBC was represented by our own Suzanne Crabb on Viola and Angela Curran-Smith on Bassoon and in the choir Martin Rumney and Carol Kumaila. Mary was played by Sarah Bayliss the daughter of Dee Bayliss.
it was a fantastic production on the scale of a London show and told the nativity story in the most dramatic and epic way.
